I received an e-mail with an attachment that I can't open. I have Windows 8, Thunderbird and I noticed the attachment shows a doc. file. thanks

You need Microsoft office software installed or you can download the free word viewer here.

All you need is a Program called Kingsoft Writer..

I would second kingsoft office, It is probably the second best office software after microsoft office and unlike ms office it is free.
