E4500 Overclock

Ok my Core 2 Duo E4500 is okay but i could really do with something quicker but in the meantime can someone advise me on overclocking I increased the clock slightly but didn't see any difference should i just keep raising it until it crashes. Or is there any other way of doing it?

You can only raise it so far by that method, you also need to increase the voltage of the CPU, tweak the memory timings/voltages, and a few other BIOS tweaks. How much did you overclock it?

Just another 20 MHZ or so then i couln't be bothered. But the bit in the BIOS with the voltage input is like greyed out and you can't select it but ill have another go

Actually i tried again and its not greyed out ive increased the core clock to 220MHz and it says the max is 232MHz and i increased the voltage from o.5% but what else should i do shove tons of power into it or what?

You won't notice any difference when you only overclock it by 20MHz, unless you are referring to the FSB speed (which I assume is what you were talking about since you said it only goes to 232MHz). I would see how high you can raise it with that change in voltage.
