how much do you think i can oc on my e6600 with the stock cooler on a evga 680i mobo. 2.7 would be great if it could without over heating

i have pretty good cooling i have a fan on the side door bringing cold air right at the pc and a big 120mm fan in the back in a mid tower case

you should use an automated clocking program, such as the one that comes bundled with nvidia motherboards (don't remember what it's called) but it automatically steps the clock up bit by bit, and then does burn in tests, and monitors temperatures, and checks for rounding errors.

Kinda like ATI tool, but not just for video cards.

Manually overclocking with air cooling could get out of hand all too quick.

3.4-3.5 is what i got on the 680i and it was essentially stock voltage (1.3 and stock is 1.28)

aftermarktet cooling is required to get 3.6 and higher because 1.4v and up are required on the 680i to achieve a stable 1600FSB (i will test this theory in a week and a half, but i am almost positive it is correct)
