I read a review for the e6600 and a guy had it ay 3.32GHz with the stock heatsink/fan and he said it still idled at 34C. I'd probably clock it @3ghz with stock heatsink/fan. Anyone that knows about this cpu think that's pretty safe?

You can get higher then that, I've had my E6400 up to 3.4Ghz, and it idled around 40-43C. If you want to overclock it though I would get an aftermarker heatsink.

ya, i know, but just for now, maybe i'll just clock it to 2.8 with the stock heatsink... I just spent all my money on my upgrade (what's in my signature) Then i'll boost it to 3.4GHz or something and get a nice Zalman. Those are nice right :) I heard one model is as nice as a low end liquid cooling system.
