Easiest way to wipe out my computer completely

so my computer is getting to be crap, kinda old but i don't have the money to buy a new one yet.

all i wanna do i wipe out my computer entirely, what is the easiest way to do that.. ya know, start fresh..
 
Re-install Windows (or whichever OS you are using).

it can differ depending on what machine you have... what make do you use?

you should have got some windows restore (or something) CD's with the PC, you can use them
 
One thing to understand about a computer system: when a computer starts up it loads the stored operating system from a hard drive. If you wipe out all data stored on your hard drive you wipe out your operating system.

Your best choices if you want to reinstall your operating system are:

1) Buy a new one
2) Go to your Original Equipment Manufacturer and ask for a CD-ROM (if you bought the computer thru an Original Equipment Manufacturer)
3) Borrrow an operating system CD-ROM from a friend

Also, make sure you backup all the data you want to keep as it will be lost if you format your hard drive.
