I have a old laptop that I cant remember the bios password for. Anyway, something strange happened. As I have done before, I took out the small battery, left it for 30 mins then put it back in.

But the password remains
The date has changed to 2000.
At the top of the screen the name “ insyde software scu” is shown.
My pc wont boot with out the password.

Any help would be great

UH-OH...Desktop PC's motherboards/BIOSes are usually forgiving with forgotten passwords...just remove the CMOS battery. But, laptops are designed to never ever
boot without a correct password, usually there is no hope with trying to get it working.
It's part of a scheme to prevent unauthorized users and theives from using your laptop.
There is no easy fix with this usually. Hard drives specifically designed for laptops use the same scheme: no matter what you do--format it (guess what it won't format w/o password), get on your knees and pray to God that it will boot or that you have the , right password, you are simply out of luck. Try to just remember what your password was.
