im putting my new computer together right now and ran across a question, i have a pci X 16 power connector on my power supply, and im using the GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card but i dont see where to plug it into the video card, does it need to be plugged in?

That extra fedd is for use on an SLI duall video card setup. That is the only time you would use it. For a single card make sure the card is installed into the correct slot if there is more then one. The power for a single card will come through the board itself.
 
7600gt's don't need the pci-eX16 power connectors.

@PC eye: I'm pretty sure that's not the case. The power connectors are made for upper end cards like 7900gt's and up. If you SLI 7600gt's, you still don't need the power connectors as the cards do not have the plug for pci X 16 power connector.
 
SLI would use the extra feed there on some setups. It depends on the cards used. Here's what a typical SLI setup looks like with the extra feeds.
