easy to scratch lcd screens?

The thing I like about this 17" CRT monitor that I'm using is the glass screen is basically impossible to scratch. I'm concerned about the LCD plastic screens and that they might be a bit too easy to scratch, not from things like jabbing it with scissors but from something like hair line scratches from wiping the screen off with a cloth. I like the idea of a much larger screen that uses less power and can be placed in the center of my desk, but I'm just trying to weigh the negatives on an LCD screen.

So what say you about the ease of scratching LCD screens and any other reasons to stick with CRT?

well put it this way, i have has mine for about 9 mouths and i have only got one small scratch on it and you cant see it unless you turn the screen off and point the screen at a light. like you said, unless you sit there with a knife and put scratches it will be fine.
when you clean it, use the softest cloth possible just to be sure you wont scratch it.
Hope that helps

I've wiped my 3+ years old LCD with some fairly coarse cloth at times, and it doesn't have single scratch... technically, glass can get scratched too (it can even crack, shatter and break); the point is, it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY that it happens and likely you won't see anything unless you do it on purpose.
