Easy trick?

I just have a question about the mobo in my sig. I have read that all x58 chipset mobos are both crossfire and SLI compatible, however I have read everywhere that mine is only crossfire. I would like to pick up a couple of GTX 460's but don't want to if there's no point. Is it easy to flash the BIOS, and is there a risk of bricking my board if I do? Thanks.

I knew that, I was just wondering if there is a way around it such as flashing the BIOS, or some other way.

I doubt flashing the bios will make it sli capable. If the original version of the board isn't sli capable, then I don't think a bios upgrade will change anything.

Its the cheaper version of the P6T, hence the SE. They didn't pay Nvidia for SLI license and a few other downgrades.

The only way I've read is flash it with the P6T bios. But I'm not telling you to do that. It could make a frisbee out of it.

I swapped out my 9800GT for the GTX460. The difference is simply amazing to say the least. After swapping them out, I turned on "Burnout Paradise", and it looked like I was playing in fast-forward and the movements were/are smooth as silk. Awesome piece of equipment.

If its still underwarenty you might be able to get it replaced with a SLI board. You should call the manufacture and ask them if you up grade to nvidia cards if they will replace the motherboard with SLI x58. Its worth a try.
