Ecs Mobo Will Not Boot

Hey guys. I just bought an ECS RS480-M and upgraded the bios to the latest one. I installed windows and the setup automatically restarted the computer. After it restarted it went to the windows booting page where the blue bar is moving, then after that, windows should show up but the monitor turns black. It is still turned on but everything is blakc and i can't see anything. Please help. I need to use it asap.

The initial screen seen in XP immediately following the screen with the scroll bar is black for those few seconds until the welcome screen appears. What you are seeing there sounds like a bad copy of installation files to the drive itself. The final installation is locking on you there. Check for scratches and any smudges on the XP cd itself.

Hopefully that's all it will be. If your disk turns out to be good and a second installation attempt still fails then you may be seeing a bad flash of the bios or a board defect now being noticed.
