Electrical Wiring Question

First of all, this is a (currently) hypothetical situation, I am not planning on doing this anytime soon So here it is:

If I had 2 wires that were holding a positive 12 volt line with 12 amperes, and I did something like this:

Sources-------- Join -------------Apart Again
|-------|
---------------- ------------------------




Would the power still be two 12v 12a lines? Or would it do something weird like become two 24v 6a lines or two 6v 24a lines

it would be two 12v 12a lines at the end, in the middle (at your join) you would have a 24v source with a theoretical max handling of 6a
