eMac and CD-RW

I am working in an office that uses eMac's. We have been using zip disks to store backup files, but are now we trying to switch to CD-RWs. Does anyone know if the eMac's even have a cd drive that is compatiable to use CD-RWs? When I try to save a file the only option is to burn the cd; but then ofcourse I can't delete that file or add a new file. Will I just need to reformat the cd each time I want to save a file?

Any [reliable] help/information is greatly appreciated!

I have a USB/Firewire enclosure I stuck a DVD-RW in and it works just fine on my Mini running OSX. I don't know what OS you're running, but I'd think post any external enclosure would work. Basically all macs are IDE now, so pretty much any internal drive would work, too(or I don't see why it wouldn't...)
