emachine 2482 case problem

Someone gave me an emachine t2482 which wasn't working. I thought it would be a great machine for basic stuff. I have bought 3 motherboards, of which 2 of them burned out. I did all the usual troubleshooting and after replacing mobo, psu, cpu and what not, there is only one thing left. The case. The other two mobo burned out, but this one just acted as the other ones, but as I took it out of the case, it worked. So here is my question.....I look at the mobo and the case and find nothing shortning out, and I am asking what could it be. No type of mobo will work in the case??? Nothing touches the mobo anywhaere....it must be shortning oiut though somewhere?????

Why not just get a new case then? I can't imagine what the problem would be, but you can get a whole new case for next to nothing anymore.

Well, here is the thing, the case have dvd rewritable drives that is made only to fit this case. They have a special shape and so on. I don't wanna have to buy any more drives.....it must be a short somehow.....what will happen if I add a rubber ring, like an o-ring or something between the board and the case....it still is grounded right?
