EMERALD theme?

Hey there,

I've been trying to install a theme which ends with .EMERALD

After a bit of a research, I got to know that I need the Compiz or EMERALD package installed.
But as I do not have broadband, I cannot use the apt-get command in the shell, and my dial-up is not configured.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS

Any help is appreciated :D

Hey there U_N,
Nope, I don't think so. Do you have the right download link?

[edit]Sorry about that, just noted that it's to be enabled via Desktop Effects, but it says that it could not be enabled, possibly because I have not installed the driver for my nVidia card (GeForce Go 7400). I'm still searching for it...[/edit]

Yes you will need the emerald theme package offered in Synpatic but since you say your dial up is not configure am not sure there's any other way to install it as almost all packages rely in synaptics

Geez, I've always hated Dial-up.

I just found out that I cannot install the nVidia driver.
It says that I'm running an x server. WTH is that?

Thanks a lot guys!
