emulator question

So, I want to play ps2 games on my computer, so I downloaded psx2. Thing is I want to be able to put a ps2 game into my DVD drive, and play it. I got one game to open, but it usually gets stuck and won't go into actual game play. Is it something I'm doing wrong or do you think it's just a faulty game disc?

Some games will not play in the emulator. I would read this list of compatible games. And sometimes it could be the DVD drive. Some don't read PS2 disks right.

Just to throw this out there. There is also Dolphin for Game Cube games. I have Mupen64 myself for Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Bought a USB to N64 adapter.
