Are all enclosures speeds the same when using the same type of connector? Example: company A eSATA enclosures read/write speed is the same as company B.

What is the preformance differnces between enclosures?
 
They should all be the same if they are using the same internal and external interface and the same standard of each interface (i.e. USB 2.0 vs USB 1.1). The speed differences should only come if it's USB vs FireWire vs eSATA. Usually though it doesn't matter since the hard drive is typically slower then the maximum throughput of those interfaces.
