Encrypt my Firefox portable account?

I want to copy my Firefox profile to my thumbdrive, but I want to encrypt it so that if I lose the thumb drive, no one can access it.
What is the best way to accomplish this? (I'm new to encryption, so feel free to explain as much as possible)
