You can RAR files and set a password on the files so you cant view the files or the filenames of the things inside or extract without a password.
To do this, when you go to add, check the box that says Lock Archive, and in the advanced tab under SET PASSWORD, set a password and make sure to "encrypt file names"
With WinRar your encrypted stuff will also be compressed; unless you choose not to in the drop down list.
