Erase SSD- How to?

I have a Samsung 840 SSD which I am returning to the manufacturer and I want to erase it. The disk only seems to fail when it's the boot drive; when connected as a secondary drive it's totally readable and has much personal information on it. I have the Samsung Magician software, but it won't erase the drive because it's in AHCI mode. When I try to switch the disk config in bios to IDE, the computer won't start.

Is there another way to erase this?

KillDisk started to run, but did nothing. I eventually erased it with the Samsung Magician disk utility.

Connect it via USB and erase it with KILL DISK either using the DOS version or using the Windows version if other one fails.
