Hi, I erased pictures that are dear to me on my computer. I tried to use active @ uneraser, it comes up with tons of pictures, but when it recovers them and I try to view them, the picture doesnt show, but the size of the file is correct . What program do you reccomend to unerase pictures off your hard drive in windows xp. I have a raid setup too. striping mode.
I use payware File Scavenger but I have only used on standard hdd. It supports Raid 0.
If you have recovered the images with other software and the images are corrupt, it's probably game over. I've found that even simple files like bmp don't last long uncorrupted, in fact some are unrecoverable immediately after emptying the Recycle Bin (unloadable, colour inverted or files overwriting each other). Don't forget that files deleted from the bin no longer have the filename. Mypic1234.bmp becomes DdXXXX.bmp (or Dc depending on hdd ID). You have to recover all and go through them. The modified date may narrow the selection.
