Ok, I havnt been on here in a while because I just can't get on it on my home computer (im not at thome here :P) so gutted on me for that.

I need your help experts of the world :D
Ok, so my girl friend has a Dell Dimension 3100 (with 2GB of ram instead of the default (I'm not that cruel ;))) that her dad bought her (against my best wishes... dell...) and it's worked well enough for her for a while (sims) but she needed an upgrade to her gfx card so her dad went out and looked for one for her, that dell has the most messed up PCI slot ever, its called an 'XE' or something and there are like no graphics cards for it AT ALL! but we did fortunately find some and every time we put it in and went to install the drivers we got an error message, now her dad was telling me about this because (to be honest) i know my way around PCs very very well but I only just saw this error message for the first time today and got a shock, because while installing the drivers we got a BSOD which wasnt a memory dump, it came up with this:

Code:
*** Hardware Malfunction
call your hardware vendor for support.

NMI:Parity Check/Memory Parity Error

*** The system has halted ***

and as you can tell I wasn't happy to see the good ol' BSOD, I did some research and still have no idea what a parity error entails, I know an NMI is a 'non-maskable interrupt' and think it's an error the system couldn't just whisk away and needed my attention.

Can somebody help me please?

The card we are currently trying to get installed is and Nvidia Quatro 290 we have the current drivers for it but still don't know what to do, if anyone needs anymore information on the build (don't laugh :D).

Thanks in advance!
