Error Messages

Hi, I keep on trying to enter a certain website and seem to have problems. It is a forum site and I have always been able to enter it until two days ago I started getting the following message every time I try to enter:

mySQL error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
mySQL error code:
Date: Friday 26th of August 2005 11:38:33 AM

Is this an error with the website or is the problem from my computer? How can I fix it?

It's so annoying not being able to enter that website. Isn't there anyone out here who knows how to fix this problem?

Thanks, but I can't view the solutions unless I sign up and I don't want to pay for one question. Besides, this is so embarrasing, but I'm really not too familiar with computers. I need solutions in the simplest words and exact order of how to fix them. Otherwise they're like a different language to me!
Is it possible for someone out here to exactly give me instructions to solve this problem.

couldnt it just be a problem with the forum server? i know there was a problem like that on this forum a while back.

You might be right since I now asked another member of the forum and she said she is having the same problem. I hope it won't last long though. How long was the error on this forum? I am training in designing and I need it.............You people here are really kind, thanks for all your help!
