Hi Folks,

This morning I attempted to install Service Pack 1 on my Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. Stage 1 completed fine and I had to restart the computer, It then as normal went through stage 2,but at some point throughout the percentage in stage 2 the computer restarted and is now displaying an a black screen with an error line at the top.

!! 0cx01a001d !! 35360 / 162629 (\Registry\Machine\Components\deriveddata...)

I turned it off and tried to run in Safe Mode, windows files are loading and it just says please wait... I've left it for ages and it's not going anywhere now.

I also do not have my windows disc, to repair windows and can't afford to re-format.

Regards,

Dang man, I agree with you with the re-formatting, here it cost 100$ at the moment I can't simply afford that lol. To be honest I've never heard of this problem on start up before.

do you not have the disc because you bought a brand name pc? if that's so then perhaps there's a hidden partition in your hdd. all you have to do is press a certain key combination to activate the repair/format option. for sony it's f10 on bootup
