ESD equipment

as long as you ground yourself it doesn't matter. I usually just keep in contact with my case and nothing has ever went wrong.

IMO unless you're really clumsy, don't know how to handle stuff with care and/or have to work on carpet, it's not worth it. Of course if you're really scared of blowing your stuff, or work on other people's computers, it may be worth the investment. But generally, if you're aware of some basic guidelines (don't walk/move around too much, don't stand/work on carpet, make sure ground yourself before you touch anything, etc.) and know how to be careful with your stuff, you'll be fine.

If you are really paranoid, take it in the bathroom, you couldn't possibly gain enough static electricity in there... :D

I just keep the computer plugged in, simply to keep the case grounded. Before touching any components just touch some metal on the computer and you'll also be at the same charge.. it's really that simple.

Nah don't use the gloves, they just get in the way. As for keeping the power plug into the wall outlet, i know they recommend you to do this, but think of it this way do you really want to be grounded to an wall outlet when there is chance of it getting extra charge or something goes wrong, then you and your system would be cooked. It's fine with wrist strap and mat, just don't do it on carpet and you will be fine.
