Ethernet Adapter and speed

Hello guys, I have some old 10/100/1000 mbit ethernet adapter, and my internet is 300 down, 100 up, but my speed test wont show over 100 mbit, how can I get my internet from 100 to 300?

Speed testing also depends on the remote side too. I have trouble finding endpoints that reliably do >100mbit much less gigabit links.

Which speed test have you used? Have you tried something like Steam for transfers? 300 mbit equates to ~37.5 MB/sec so you should be topping out somewhere around there, assuming the remote end can facilitate that kind of bandwidth to you.

Yeaa

I used speedtest dot net, but I also noticed my Ethernet shows speed of 100 only too in properties
Also read that network cable can change things too, I currently have cat5 cable

I'd change the cable then. Cat5 is usually good for 100 mbit while you would need Cat5e/6 for gigabit, although for short runs it shouldn't matter much.

Also, what router do you have? If it only has a 100 mbit interface that's all you're going to get out of it.

It's connected through 300 mbit router
What model? Many cheaper 300Mbps wireless routers only have 10/100 LAN ports.

Plug directly into your modem and see what your speeds are. If they are over 100, then it's your router.

Yea, router was 300mbit wireless, but 100 with cable :/ Does switch have any limit while sharing internet?
Tell us the model router you have. My guess is you have 10/100 LAN ports, and most likely a 10/100 WAN port, so even if you connect wirelessly at 300Mbps, you are capped at 100Mbps for internet.
