Ethernet Ports

I'd just gotten an ethernet cable, and noticed my modem and computer has just one port. I was wondering if there was an option I could buy to connect two ethernet cables to one port, kind of like you can do with incoming/outgoing phone lines.
 
Are you trying to connect multiple computers to the same modem? If so then you have two choices, you can buy a router which would connect to your WAN port on your modem, and usually allows you to connect 4+ wired PC's, as well as wireless PC's.

Or if your modem supports you could also just buy a switch, and do a similar setup.
