OK so I love my new build!! And I'm going to stick with it for awhile. But I want to up the game. I want a 500 gb ssd upgrade an 3 tb HHD an I mean a good HDD. I'm gunna put my 128 ssd in a laptop when I do this so that's covered. I also want a good 16 GB ram sticks. There's my upgrade. Need advice on good quality versions of all this. Thx :)

Idk man just don't get why people get it then. Well put that aside for now. What options do I have for ssd an hdd

We're not trying to rain on your parade, just that it's not necessary and a waste of money unless you're doing something other than gaming.

Seagate Barracuda or Western Digital Blue, Black or Red are all good hard drives.

Samsung EVO drives are good SSD's.

Thanks guys just wanted to make sure. Umm off topic a bit what's your guys opinion on my GPU. The zotac gtx 970. My use has kinda showed that its a bit noisy at times. But it seems fairly decent.

I personally would have gotten an ASUS or Gigabyte card myself. If it's too noisy, sell it and buy another brand.

Zotac is definitely one of the cheaper manufacturers. They're not awful, but wouldn't be my first choice. They typically have cheaper coolers and thus are noisier and hotter than their more expensive counterparts from companies like Asus. Performance should theoretically be the same though across all 970's, assuming the card isn't over or underclocked.

Yeah almost want a 980 but once I'm done I'll have almost another $1000 in my RIg haha it was my first build so idk something s I wish I could a did different but whatever

The 970 is no slouch, especially if you're just gaming on one monitor. I'd be thrilled to have one. What kind of noise are you getting out of it? Is it constant or just under load?

Yea it performs. Well it does it when I get some high frame rates I have one game that really makes it noisy I'll quit playing it goes away like magic lol

My machine often uses more than 8GB when gaming.

Probably because you're gaming on multiple monitors and your OS is using more RAM since it has more to work with. Yeah you could spend the money on 16GB but the returns you'd get in performance would be pretty minimal. You always chime in like this saying how you could spend more but you gotta realize there's a point where spending 80 bucks more for a few frames just isn't worth it.

I game on one monitor. Modern Windows operating systems utilise RAM differently and assuming he has 1 x 8GB ram module, adding another will run in dual channel mode, which is materially faster.

Oh yeah you changed your setup. You used to have 3 - 1080p monitors didn't you?

Ehh yeah you could get a little better performance but probably isn't worth the cost.
