ok, i have 4 drive spaces, and underneeth that there are 2 floppy like slots.
i put my harddrive in the scond floppy spot.
....heres the dumb part.

i think i put it on upside downs, but im not sure.

i have a seagate 160gig, and all the little gizmos and chips are facing up.
like the green board with the capasiters and what not are facing up.

is that right?

*LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY* how come you put it in a floppy spot? try plugging your cables into it. if they dont go in any holes, turn it over.:)

i have the acryllic sumbeam case. its nice and sweet

but i have little slots that go on each side of the floppy spots and these holes and ovals fit perfect with the holes in the harddrive

are you talking about floppy drives? you should have a place to put your HDD's and the floppy bay should go to the front of the case? or maybe i am misunderstanding you.
 
Does it really even matter? I know its not good to collect dust on the circuit board and such...but turning it upside down might make it easier to cool.

on all of the computers i have seen, they will only go in one way. am just an uncultured country boy or what?
 
depends, for most harddrives i would think yes. there is clearance designed on the HDD to fit in the little cradles below the screw holes. but i have a Maxtor drive that is VERY thin, and it will fit either way since it doesnt hit the little cradle points. MY western digital si thicker and the metal top is too thick so it wont align with the screw holes when it is upside down.

i think my seagate is thin, and it will go in either way.
ill go upstairs and see were else it will go.
and ill stry flipping it around, but it seems it fits best in the floppyspot...

and dont laugh at my case, i love the way it looks :p
 
ok, but is it ok if the electronic are facing up?
i'd imagine the heat would rise up of the electronics and what not and go to the fans.
 
Some of the heat is created by the circuit board anyway, so it wont make a difference whether its facing up, down, or sideways.
