Everytime i reboot it checks disk for consistency ....???

I dont know why but it checks a partition of one of my drives EVERYTIME i reboot i dont understand what could be causing the problem i access the data fine whats up

This could be caused by a bad sector and windows is trying to read something off of it. Does the drive have an OS installed on it or is it just a backup partition? The CHKDSK utility could help you, but you may want another opinion.

nope i dont have another os installed on it its just music files on it, should i move the files and reformat the partition??

Move the files to a different drive then reformat the bad drive and then reboot and see if it still wants to do a diskcheck. I had that problem once and thats what I did, problem solved.

so john reformat the entire DRIVE or just the partition? Be a major pain if its the entire drive...was hoping to not have to go into those hours of backing up data..
