Evga Classified SR-2 is available

I'm considering it...
edit: probably not, the setup without case/gpu's is "only" around $2000, add in an ascension($500), and a pair of fermi's(rumored at $349), then all the watercooling stuff(probably another $700) and it isn't too feasible :P but, if i can find a cheapo skulltrail board, i'll get it, because i just love dual socket boards lol

OMG *Drools*

If I had the money for an unlimited budget PC I'd so get that.

that mobo will come down in price A LOT in a couple of months. its not worth the price right now

I have my doubts, the standard classified classified has been out for probably a year now, and i don't think that it has dropped at all from the release $400 price, so what makes you think this even higher end board will?

well its just that that mobo is priced RIDICULOUSLY high and will HAVE to come down eventually if it wants to compete. Also the classified board has been out for, at the most, 2-3 months

It doesn't have to compete, if you want the opportunity to crack world records with 8 cores, and 4 gpu's, then you'll need this board, and the classified has been out way longer than 2-3 months, considering the fact i got mine back in September, and according to this post, it was released March 11th

It would be better if it supported Quad CFX. It's not worth getting the best of everything if one component (GPUs) aren't the best.

Fermi is gonna be better than the 5870's... Plus it also supports CFX.

$2000? If you go "all out" i guess. Its $599 for the board, say $299x2 for 2 6gb kits of perfect storms, and then two E5520's are around $385 each which is ~$2000. But you could go for $599 board, $199x2 for ripjaws, $239.99x2 for E5504's it could be done for $1500 or so.

P.S. If you see some of the photos they released awhile back, when the board is being held shamino its pretty much as wide as he is.

If I ever got one of these, it would have to be for a computer that would be dedicated to encoding Blu-ray movies to put on an HTPC.
