eVGA GTX 570 vs eVGA GTX 580

I can't seem to find any head to head battles on these cards.

I have the 570 and my step up program is about to run out. Just making sure 100% that this is the card for me.

Right now, the 570 is everything I wanted and more. It's very powerful and runs pretty damn cool!

Just wondering if the extra $150 for the stepup is worth it. How much more power it draws, how much hotter it runs, and how much more powerful it is.

My 570 is overclocked passed SC but nothing insane. Stock voltage.

I want to play Battlefield on full blast at 1900x1200!

I am not very keen on the SLi idea so before people recommend that, sorry. Don't want to fit another 10.5" card in this case!

Not sure if a 720w psu could Handle SLi'd 570's, but I would Sli them.

GTX 570 TDP is 225w, so 450W for two. I don't know if the Enermax one would have enough, I'd be going with an 850W model of something newer and seasonic based to be on the safe side, and to have headroom for overclocking.

I looked at this thread earlier before going out and face palmed at the replies :P No crossifre

I would take the 580 if you have the spare cash. You are going to get about a 20% performance gain, real world, around 10fps average over your 570, which isn't too shabby at all.

That is at stock though. If you were to overclock your 570, you could get the 580 performance and more, but then also remember that you could overclock the 580 too to get even greater performance

I do overclock my cards. I don't alter voltage, always at stock there. I modify memory and core.

But I can't find anything about an overclocked 580s performance or temps either. This is actually very frustating. My 570 is at 43C at idle (70% fan speed). It goes to about 58-60 at load. It should be the same, no?

Powerwise, aren't they both very similar as well?

580's will run a smidge warmer. TDP is 213 on the 570 and 240 on the 580, or something close to those figures thats just off the top of my head.

There isn't much performance difference in 570 and 580, not enough to spend $150 to step up....nearly 1/2 the price of another 570.

Maybe step up to a 590 if you only want 1 card?

I don't think the GTX580 is worth 150 more for just 7-10FPS gains.

The GTX 570 should do fine for now.
