Hey guys, i got a EVGA Gtx285 and when i play games i have to raise the fan speed upwards of 95-100% just to keep my max GPU temperature below 85c.

Does anyone have any good recommendations on what cooler i could get? I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount, i saw some for 50-60 bucks which is good.

Thanks.

Yeah, i was reading up about that one, only problem id probably have to get memory heat sinks, which makes the upgrade close to 100 bucks lol.

How do you take off the heatsink on the card?
because im betting there's a ton of sticky smoke-dust clogging the heatsink, i could also re apply some AS5 to it.

unscrew all the screws on the back of the card(except for the tiny screws around the core) and the two on the pci bracket(the ones by the dvi ports) and then you're going to want to wiggle the heatsink around, and then be careful because the fan is still attached

All Arctic Cooling cards come with memory heatsinks. Just remember to clean the memory chips first because the heatsinks stick on by thermal glue, so you won't be wanting to take them off, so won't want dust or other crap under there.

I've never used a 285 so don't know how the HSF is attatched, but generally it is just screws on the bottom. Follow Just a Noobs advice, I know he has had 285's so has more experience for that
