Excel file slow to open and save

I added a password to the excel file when it opens.

Since then, the excel file is really slow to open or to save.

Is there any solution.
I don't understand why a password would slow down the excel file ?! ridiculous...

Is it slow when you don't have the password on? If not, then that's probably the reason, it's probably authenticating your password everytime you try and do something.
