Expert in wireless/ wired networking Vista/ XP required

Hi all, I really need an expert to give me a hand with my network. I am using a Belkin F5D7633-4Av1_UK Wireless router, Custom Build Wired (Ethernet) PC running XP, three laptops running xp (one not required to be networked), and another laptop running Vista Home Premium. I have setup everything ok, encryption/ file sharing, etc. All pc's are running Norton internet security 2006 except the laptop with Vista which is running 2007, file sharing enabled on all. Some times everything connects great and all PC's are networked, but say for instance I restart one PC (any pc) and then try to access any other PC from any other PC I am restricted from accessing that network, but some times I restart that PC again and some times it comes up again. The PC with Vista is the main problem, I have Network discovery, File sharing, public folder sharing on and have Topology Discovery Responder installed on all PC's. If anyone can give me any help it would be much appreciated, before I loose any more hair, please!!!

Hmm I don't personally have a lot of vista experience in the real world since we aren't going to migrate any time soon, however I have tinkered with it since beta.

Now, There is a new feature called Network Access Protection (NAP) which basically automatically disconnects clients from a network and segregates itself from the network if the client/network does not meet its checks and balances.

There should be a way to just turn this thing completely off. Also, for grins completely unhook your vista machine all together and do not run it on the network and see what happens when using the XP machines. Keep the vista machine off your network for like a day or two and see if the problem just goes away.

I have an idea what it could possibly be, but lets see if vista is causing the problem. Take vista out of the equation and if the problem completely goes away then it was vista's fault. That will narrow it down and make troubleshooting easier.

Thanks for the reply, all sorted. Removed vista, setup network with XP pcs only then added vista after. All seems to be good.
