Explorer 7 problems.....

I have Win XP, current and up to date. Yesterday when I logged on (Explorer 7), I got the dreaded 404 file not found error. My homepage is www.cnn.com and I thought maybe there was a problem with the site but a friend's computer goes no problems. I downloaded Firefox, same thing happens. I am running the latest Zone Alarm firewall and Anti-spyware, along with AVG free. I think it may be the firewall blocking me for some reason, but I can't figure out why....thanks in advance for your help!

C'mon guys! Surely someone has had a similar problem or has a idea where to begin on this. I'm gettin a brain tumor here.

Are you sure you are connected to the web when you do it? Certainly, my connection sometimes fails for a few seconds.. (terrible for me, as I game ;P)

well if its zone alarm, u can make sure its NOT blocking it by doing this...

1) open zonealarm
2) go to 'program control'
3) look in the list for 'internet explorer' and check everything so IE is good.

also maybe could be a router you are using (routers sometimes have their own built in firewalls too). if you ARE using a router, try directly connecting from the modem to the computer and see if that works. if that succeeds then i probly know what your problem is and how to fix it. but for now try that first. :)

It could be a lot of things. That both browsers can't get there means it may be an entry in your hosts file blocking it.
