I work in a large building that has provided public access wifi throughout many area. I am not sure if the devices are Access Points or Routers, but they have no additional wiring besides a Cat 5 cable so I am assuming they are PoE. They are also inaccessible so I cannot examine.
I want to get wifi in a room that the building's signal does not reach, however I am able to put a range extender or similar very close to this Access Point/Router and run a Cat5e to my location.
If I do this what would be the appropriate devices on each end to grab the wifi-send through Ethernet cable-rebroadcast wifi signal?
The wifi is public access with no additional login passwords required.
