external capture card? just want to record tv show to lap top

i have an HP pavilion dv6-1245dx lap top, it had vista but i got the free windows 7 upgrade, i want to capture a certain tv show because i can't find the torrent for it and it's too expensive to buy and would like to save the tv show on something other than VHS, i have dish network with a DVR but it's got limited space and i would like to store tv show onto DVD or just on my computer.

i've been reading about gettin an external tv capture card but alot of them are incompatible with a 64bit OS. was wondering what my options would be.

any info would be helpful

Would be careful what you mention... Just search the internet for any models that are compatible with 64-bit, most newer ones should be. if not, then sometimes you can get the to work with the 32 bit drivers.

thanks, yeah i'll have to check it out, ah i'll probably just record the shows on VHS haha, go old school or just buy the episodes
