External CD/DVD Rom

Im goin to be gettn a netbook here pretty soon and i want to get a external drive for it and i want to no if it would work on the netbook,and also if it does work can i re install windows on it are do yall no but if any body no let me no please....
 
i just bought one for my net book. bought from www.newegg.com
Gear Head Mobile slim. no power supply needed. gets from two usb2 ports from the netbook. its a 8speed burner as well. i just use for installing programs. the mobile slim does have a internal adapter for power supply if needed. the netbook has to be plugged into powersupply. at least thats the way i was using it. not with battery. i do not have any intention of burning cd/dvd with it.
