im gonna get a external firewire hdd thats 400 gb. i know when i format my harddrive to fat32 its gonna make me partion it right? does that mean when i go to save a session in pro tools, or save something period, instead of just 2 hard drives popping up on the side to save 2, this will make it look like 10 hard drive are avalable to save to??

why would you partition as fat32 and not ntfs? I have an external firewire hdd and I never had to partition it.....

When you format any drive you have to create a partition. If you are using Windows XP/2000 to format it to FAT32 the max partition size is 32GB. If you use a 3rd party utility or Windows 98/ME you can make one big partition
