External Graphics Card

This may be a stupid question, but is there such a thing as an external graphics card?

not that ive heard off and if its usb driven it wouldn't be any good
mind you. you could manage the heat better

There are USB video adapters, but they are for low performance applications like PowerPoint presentations. Anything with still images will probably do okay, but if there is a lot of screen activity it would not do very well. You certainly wouldn't play most games with it.
