im trying to install my internal western digital hard drive into my new HP computer, i have the hard drive installed that came with it but i need this one installed aswell, i can get it connected but its not being read in My Computer. Theirs 3 types of connections on the hard drive, the 4 pin periphial power connector, a small white connector and the long 20 slot connector for motherboard - harddrive reading.

TITLE SHOULD READ INTERNAL NOT EXTERNAL

if its a ide hd(wich it is) then u might need to set ur jumpers to slave if the other is the master on the same ribbon cabel

ok basicly, on the back of the hdd where the power connecters go, there should be a small group of pins with wat looks like lil plastic covers on them. those are called jumpers. now in order to get sum drives to work as slave(secondary hdd on the same cable as the primary hdd), you need to set the jumpers so that it is in slave mode for a lack of a better term. they should be on thee hdd itself or inside a book or paper that came with it let me know if u need ne more help
