i am not that techno literate but want to get an external hard drive media player to put my dvds onto as i have over 200 but also have a 5yr old son, but also want to set it up with my sky plus box. It'd have to be a simple ish set up, and easy operation has anyone got any advise on which one to go for? i was looking at the, Cyclone HD 1000GB USB / LAN / HDMI Media Centre Recorder & Player Drive and the Freecom 1TB MediaPlayer II HDMI Multimedia Hard Drive, but am unsure what will best suit my needs? does anyone have some answers?

You may not be able to play movies off an external hard drive. Most times external hard drives connect by a universal serial bus (USB) port which gives slow transfer rates.
