External hard Drive Problem (Windows 10)

I bought 2 Unionsine external Hard drives for my two windows 10 PCs.
(DataPocket Models HD2510)
When I plug one of them into one PC (my most important PC) it returns the message:-
D:\ This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if alreaady installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page."
Can anyone please help me ? - (The Unionsine website would accept my support request because it said my phone number was not correctly formatted...)
I will be MOST grateful for your assistance !

Does the other one do the same or does it act correctly? Does that drive do the same thing on the other pc? My guess is either the drive is damaged somehow or its wanting to load a program upon connecting and your pc won't open it. Is your pc malware free? Have you scanned it with Malwarebytes recently?

Thank you, Johnb35, for your kind response. The other (new) HDD behaves in the same way when plugged into my (most important) PC, giving the same message. I tried both (new) HDDs in the other (older) windows 10 PC and the one I have left plugged into it SEEMS to be working, though it's hard to tell, as after 10 minutes, it's only showing two small files as being on the D:\ drive...(Types mentioned below) although that above mentione message did NOT show up on the older PC.
It therefore seems that both new HDDs are not damaged but my MAIN problem is wanting to back up my (most important) PC and, although that above mentioned message hasn't reappeared, the D:\ drive on my (most important) PC is just showing the same two files - one is type "DBXIGNORE" and the other a "FILEID" file. each one KB. - Does this tell you anything more, John ?
I've not run malwarebytes. Should I ?
Thank you for your time and trouble.

Well, If they behave correctly on the other pc then its something different with your pc. I'm not sure what file your pc is trying to open. Do you remember anything opening on the other pc when it was plugged in? Can you post a screenshot of the actual error message? Sometimes at the top of the error message window it lists the file name that its trying to open.

I'm wary of wasting your time, Johnb35...
Since our last exchange, I found a way of requesting Windows 10 to "Back up Now" on the "Back up using file history" page and switching on the "Automatically back up my files" slide, and I chose "Daily" It SEEMED to get things started, and the blue light on the HDD did flash a few time, BUT, now I can't find the External Hard Drive (D:\) on "My PC...only the C:\ drive is showing, whereas the D:\ drive was showing before...
I'm thinking I should restart my PC and see what happens. Do you agree ?

Thank you for your time, Johnb35 - I'm off to bed now. I'm going to restart my PC. I'll be back to you, if I may, if I need more guidance.

Thank you, Johnb35 for your kind help.
Somehow, both external hard drives suddenly decided to function !
I can now see “file history” on both PCs :-)
I appreciate the time you kindly afforded me.
Keep well and happy !
Kind regards,
Gyromurf :-)
