External Hard Drive Problem

I have an external hard drive that has been working well for months. It was working well today until i dropped it... it was only about a 2.5 feet drop onto a wooden floor. When i plugged it into my mac, the HD icon did not appear on my desktop as usual. I checked the HD with Disk Utility and found it to say it was unformatted. And on top of that it says it is a 2TB Harddrive when it really was only a 150GB harddrive. i unplugged it and tried it on my pc. When plugging it in, it starts recognizing it as a new external hard drive and installs it. Even after being installed and ready, the hard drive does not appear in My Computer. I tried going to disk managment and the hard drive is not listed there either. I made my peace with losing my files, but what can i do to have my computer recognize it so i can format it into fat32.

btw when i plug it in to my pc, it does show a USB (my external HD) has been connected but nothing else. :(

The drive is probably damaged beyond repair. I'd try sticking it inside your computer to see if it works at all... but from the sound of it, the drive itself is gone.
