external hard drive problem

hey all, the cord that is connected from the power point to the external hd is damaged (it wont turn on). is there a place where i can buy this sort of cable - the cable is a ps2 to a power adapter. I really dont want to buy another hard drive just for the cable.

How old is the external hdd? Is it still under warranty? If so then this sort of thing is covered by the warranty (usually) so you can simply send it back and ask the manufacturer (or the place you bought it from). Why not check a site like ebay for a dud one (damaged HDD of the same model), buy it for a real cheap price because it's nackered and just change over the cables?
