External Hard Drive Question

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator that I want to install. I have Windows 8. I have an external hard drive. My question is would it cause any problems downloading the sim and many of its add ons if it goes on the External hard drive or should I put it on my (C) Drive which is fairly large.

Generally it is not advisable to install games on an external hard drive, what is your internal drive configuration ?

if you can put it on your C: then do that. You can put it on you external drive as long as the interface is fast enough. USB is insufficient for this really.

I agree with the others. A USB external hard drive would be too slow to install games onto probably.

If you don't have enough space on drive C:\, buy another 3.5" hard drive and install it inside your PC. Connect it via SATA and you can install FSX on that.
