hi folks,

I just noticed yesterday my speed to my external drive has dropped? I was hitting about 70mbps and now I am in the 20s.

What could be the cause behind this?

Honestly I am not sure what you mean. I've only had it going on three weeks.

it's connected via USB 3.0.

Well generally the best way to test transfer speed is to use a specific file that is at least 1gb in size.

He meant how did you determine those speeds? What did you use to come to those conclusions.

Those were just the speeds I noticed before.

Try testing the drives for errors. Could be a bad drive, even though you just purchased it.

Also try it on a different computer with USB3.0. Could be a driver malfunction.
