external hd questions.. help appreciated!

which is better, and i realise one is 40gig and the other 80, but the prices are ok,

but my real question is do they do the same kinda thing... would i be able to plug the 80 one into a different computer and use it there, and are ya able to load stuff straight from it, for an example take a music track?

Looks to me like they are about the same. Think of them kind of like a floppy disk, a really big one. You probably wouldnt be starting your computer with these hard drives, but you would access them through usb, as a backup type device, copy music, etc, from one drive to the other. If you don't such a large amount of spcae I would reccomend a thumb drive.

Yes, they work just like a normal hard drive, they are just tend to be a little slower

280$??? WOW EXPENSIVE! My suggestion would be grabe a WESTERN DIGITAL 120 or 160 (less than $100) Buy the external case ($30) and your saving $150!!!! And your getting more HD!

ah its all good Trizoy, im living in ireland and the prices are ok, nothing ridiculous as the equivalent to 280dollars, im a student not a millionaire!

If you guys didn't look, that Iomega is a mini drive and doesn't require power... I wish my external drivers were like that
