External HD Won't Show Up

Hey everyone, have had a toshiba ext hd for a while now and I've just got back from being out and it's gone from my computer. I've tried turning it off and on again, disconnecting by usb and reconnecting and nothing.

The power light is on so it must be working, my pc isn't picking it up? What could of happened in the space of time I was out???

Look in disk management to find out the status of the drive. Right click "my computer" click on manage, click on disk management on the left. It also could be that the computer isn't recognizing and usb devices.
