Hi,

My external HDDs are not detected by desktop computer at both front and rear USB slots. However, normal pen drives(32 GB) are detected and works fine. The same external HDDs are detected by laptops and works smoothly. What could be the reason for this?

Its probably gonna have something to do with either the drive or the actual enclosure that the desktop won't detect it. You already narrowed it down since other usb's work in the pc and it works fine in a laptop. Does this external drive require power or does it just work through the usb?

The cabinet of the desktop is 12 years old. No, the external HDDs doesn't require power. It's normal 1 TB drives.
